December 2012 – High-Density Residential Parking, Vredehoek, Cape Town:
Vredehoek is a high-density suburb consisting mainly of multi-level flats, bordering the Cape Town CBD. Adequate parking is lacking, recently exacerbated by the introduction of one-way streets and the banning of on-street parking on certain routes to accommodate MyCiTi buses.
To address this need we proposed the following to a major property owner in the area:
Mixed-use development consisting of:
- Compu-Park™ Modular parking for 280 vehicles;
- 250m² Modular storage;
- ±5,000m² upmarket residential apartments.
Unfortunately the property’s Special Projects Committee voted against releasing ±1,700m² of their land for the project. However, since Board members constantly change we will re-approach them again in the next 6-12 months.
Project Value: ±R130 million
